WE’D ASK THE HORSES, BUT THEIR OWNERS KNOW BEST

“FeedRight haylage compliments our breeding program. Our horses can more easily express their individual talent as their mindset benefits from the qualities of FeedRight. This is particularly evident at the Nutrien sale where my young sale horses maintain their temperaments we breed for and respond positively, even in the high energy centre stage of the ALEC arena.”

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF FEEDING HAYLAGE?

IMPROVED DIGESTION

The partially fermented nature of haylage supports beneficial gut bacteria, which plays a crucial role in digesting feed and synthesising essential vitamins and minerals. This can lead to improved gut health and nutrient absorption, both of which are key to maintaining horse health.

INCREASE IN HAPPY HORMONES

During digestion of FeedRight haylage, metabolites and short-chain fatty acids (SCFA)  in the hindgut enable the increased production of serotonin and dopamine, proof that the hindgut directly influences brain function.

EASY TO STORE

Simply cut the bag open at the top and cover the open bag with either a hessian bag or day rug. The idea is to keep the bale fresh by keeping the moisture in. Remember the microbes cannot survive if the haylage dries out.

BETTER PERFORMANCE

The partial-fermentation of haylage means that the digestive tract of your performance horse doesn’t need to work as hard or fast to absorb the good nutrients. This also means less heat in our horses will be generated during the digestion process, always a welcome advantage.
